What a great combination: "The essence of great Open Source community is in great collaborative processes, infrastructure and opportunities that help drive a united team of contributors in a shared direction."

I do agree with all three components:

processes: social interactions between members of the community

infrastructure: how we could implement that processes

opportunities: looking for the future, connecting people and projects

I must say, my idea of Community was very broad, and I think this book may give me a more realistic idea of what the Open Community Really is: How it develops, how it is managed, and how it ever evolving and growing to encompass all who participate. My idea of community may be narrowing, but my knowledge of what qualifies as participation is growing. Thanks! Again, can't wait to read the finished product.
